Lørdag 24. januar klokken 14 åpner årets første utstillinger ved Oplandia senter for samtidskunst, Villfaren drøm – Dyrets øye av Anne Kampmann og Same Sun av Tor-Finn Malum Fitje.
Villfaren drøm – Dyrets øye
Vi lever i en tid som gjør mange av oss fortvilte over hvordan vi har stelt det til for jorda og alt levende. Vi er villfarende og – drømmen? Alle mine verk forholder seg til livets utsatthet og det skjebnefellesskap alt levende er en del av. Fortellende bilder åpne for mange tolkninger. Målsetningen er å følge de spor som bildet velger for meg. Naturen er en daglig og nødvendig kilde til inspirasjon. Dyret står sentralt, fordi det kan formidle det mennesket ikke ser, samtidig er dyret et symbol på uskylden, i betydning uten skyld for menneskets ødeleggelser.

We live in a time that leaves many of us distressed about what we have done to the Earth and all living beings. We have gone astray–and the dream? All my works relate to the vulnerability of life and the shared destiny that all living things are part of. Narrative images open up for many interpretations. My aim is to follow the traces that the image chooses for me. Nature is a daily and essential source of inspiration. The animal is central because it can convey what humans fail to see; at the same time, it is a symbol of innocence—innocent, that is, of the destruction caused by humans.

Same Sun
Same Sun skildrer solbrillens historie og betydning gjennom tre aspekter: som øyebeskyttelse, som motefenomen (hvor kulhet bygges på frakobling fra verden), og som teknologisk innovasjon (koblet til kyborger, krigføring, kunstig intelligens). Gjennom en tokanalsfilm, foto og tekstil trekker kunstneren en linje fra inuittenes urgamle snøbriller og frem til de ikoniske pilotbrillene.
Verket handler om moderniseringen av menneskets blikk og utviklingen av det overfladiske. Det beskriver en dragning i alle kulturer mot å se direkte på solen, selv om du vet at det vil gjøre deg blind.
Same Sun traces the history and meaning of sunglasses through three facets: as eye protection, as fashion phenomenon (where coolness is built on detachment), and as technological innovation (linked to cyborgs, modern warfare, artificial intelligence). Through a two-channel video, photography and textile, the artist traces a lineage from the ancient snow goggles of the Inuits to the iconic aviator glasses.
The work explores the modernization of human sight and the evolution of the superficial. It points to a universal impulse: a desire to look directly at the sun, even though you know it will make you go blind.
